PAFA Ornament Swap and Christmas at my house!

The PAFA team recently had an ornament swap and I was so fortunate to have a wonderful partner like Valerie from Yorkies Primitives ! She sent me three wonderful prim pillow ornies, a yummy chocolate chip cookie, and a penguin dish towel. You really need to stop by her etsy shop and check out all her wonderful creations!
I have been busy at home with this little man :)  my daughters son Andrew (who I call Mikey)  he has definitely stolen his Meemaw's heart and I just love my little Mices to Pieces!  I finished my class in Early Childhood Education and got a 4.0 :) now I am subbing at a child care center, and hoping to land a lead teaching position. I always seem to accomplish so much more when I am pressed for time ??? So having a job will help me creatively! The hard part is leaving my man behind when I go. Wishing you all a blessed holiday season!  Merry Christmas!

Busy Month!

My Son Bo and Daughter Emalee
My daughter Savannah and Son Andrew
It has been a very busy month here! I welcomed into the world two new grand babies in 4 days! Emalee was born on September 20th, and Andrew made his appearance on September 24th. I have been super busy with school work, doing a special order of light bulb ornaments, and I also have become an independent Avon Representative!   I am loving all of the excitement around the house and love having my grand babies so close by! Andrew lives with us and Emalee lives right behind us. As for my school work, I am almost done and soon will have my teaching credentials for early childhood education. As for being an Avon Rep, I love that too. You can shop at my online store and have your Avon products delivered right to your door, even if you are out of town! Of course if you are local I will deliver them myself !  I am wrapping up my big ornament order and will have new items added to my ETSY SHOP soon. Before I say goodnight, I want to share a picture of Andrew on Halloween. I think he is just the cutest little tiger around!

Catching up ... It's Baby Time!

It's almost baby time! My daughters baby shower was a huge success!  She received so many wonderful gifts and the party ended up going well even with having to cancel the original date due to the hurricane. She will be having my grandson Andrew by Friday. We were at the Doctor's yesterday, and if she doesn't going into labor by Friday they will be inducing her.
On another note, my grandson Oliver and his parents have packed up and moved to the big city :( . I know this is a really good move for them, and they will have so  much fun living in the city, with so much to do. But I sure am going to miss my little pumpkin pie Ollie, and of course his mommy and daddy.
It's been back to school for me, so I have been busy with homework, and haven't had much crafting time. I am taking a course in Early Childhood Education, and really enjoying substituting at a local daycare. I just love being with the little one's and I am hoping to become a lead teacher at a daycare center.

I was the lucky winner of  Brenda from The Rusty Thimble's big giveaway. My beautiful witch arrived yesterday, and I need to take some pictures of her sitting in her new place, and will post them later. I just had to share with you the gorgeous work that Brenda does!  That lady has some talent!

Irene's Wrath/ My non baby shower

The Farmers house that I did signs for

My Church minus the steeple :(

Bogue Inlet Pier
We got word that Irene was heading our way early last week. I kept trying to think positive, I was even saying we would have a baby shower/ hurricane party if necessary.  As we rolled further into the week, it was looking like it was going to be a serious storm, but I was holding my ground .. the baby shower was on. Thursday I received a phone call from walmart asking me if I wanted my cake, and meat tray a day early because they were closing! ( What walmart closing?? This is bad)  So with that in mind I had to cancel the shower for this past weekend and reschedule. Now I am thinking, hummm my daughter is 35 weeks pregnant, this storm sounds like it is going to be bad, yes I know how to deliver a baby, but do I want to deliver my grandson with my daughter not getting any pain meds. HECK NO!!!   The next step was to pack all the baby items in totes, finish up the laundry and get us pack to head out of here. Oh did I mention that I was in charge of the PAFA Fall Celebration  and The big Giveaway ? So I get on the phone and call wonder woman Brenda from the Rusty Thimble and tell her I need her help to put this all together, in turn she gets a hold of Deb Riddle of Paxton Valley Folk Art  and these to fabulous girls put together the celebration and giveaway on a shoe string. I didn't get all the information to them, and they had to scramble to get it all put together, I had sketchy phone service, and power outages where we fled to, and the internet was in and out. I have to give kuddo's  to these ladies for a job well done!  The members of  the PAFA Team on ETSY are the greatest! They pull together and help out their fellow team members!  They promote each others shops, and are just a wonderful bunch of creative prim artists!  I am so proud to be a part of the team!   So back to the storm, we stayed in Fayetteville for 2 nights, and headed home, we saw so much damage on our way home and we expected to come home to a mess. But God has blessed us so much during this storm. No baby yet .. Yahhhh, only screen damage on our porch, and a broken a/c unit.  The baby shower is on for this weekend, and I am going to tie my daughters legs together if I have to, so we can have this shower!  Pictures of the shower will follow. Here are a few of my newest prims that I have added to Etsy. Stop by and take a peek, more are in the works so please check back often!

Did you ever feel like the chicken with it's head cut off ??

That's how I have felt lately! I feel like I am running in all kinds of different directions and just can't seem to stay focused on the task at hand! I have my daughters baby shower coming up and still have to make a diaper wreath, diaper cake, and get together all the gift bags, not to mention that I have to do all the cooking for that, but that won't happen until the day before the shower.
I also am going back to school, so I have had to run all over the place to get all the needed things done so I could enroll on online classes at the local college. If that isn't enough, I decided I was going to start substitute teaching at a daycare center. So that entailed running around for more things, like finger prints, background check, TB testing etc.  I have huge order for ornaments, and I so want to get so many fall things made.  I start one thing and then before you know it I am doing something else! Did I mention that I have a new puppy in the mix too??? LOL  The puppy doesn't like to be left while I go in my craft room, so she stands at the gate and barks ( which usually signals that she needs to go outside) so I am back and forth over the gate to make sure she potties outside, and then have no idea where I'm at! Oh I forgot to mention that HOT FLASHES Fry my brain!!! LOL  So here's to all the women, with twenty things on their plate! My hat goes off to you! Hopefully I will get some things finished soon!!

Our newest addition to our family

Sugar Bear
My husband has missed his German Shepard since she passed away 3 years ago. He wasn't ready to replace her until he saw this little lady. So for Fathers Day we went and picked up Sugar Bear, a female chocolate lab. She is the cutest little girl, and very smart. She is only 7 weeks old and is just about totally house broken. She will go to the door and whine when she needs to go out most of time, and will run to the door when she hears her daddy come home. If he leaves she will go to the door and cry, and then go to the window and watch him leave, you have to distract her with something else, to get her to quit crying because her daddy is going out. It is so funny to watch her play,my daughter had put down a bag, and Sugar Bear decided she liked it so she dragged it across the living room into the dining room to her towel.
She loves to go into the garden with my husband, and follows him every where. I know that Sasha will never be replaced, but it's so nice to see my husband with his new friend!

Signs of Summer

I have been so busy doing signs for a local produce stand that I haven't really spent much time on the computer, so I haven't blogged in awhile. Well after painting the huge watermelons, I had these signs to paint for Guthrie Farms. From there I picked up another job painting more signs for another local produce stand :) . I have several signs to paint so it hasn't left much time for anything else. I hope you all are enjoying your summer! Congrats to all the graduates! Wishing everyone a wonderful Summer!

It's a Boy and a Girl !

I am so excited! My son found out this week that he and his wife are having a baby girl, and my daughter found out this week she is having a baby boy!  The mommas are due about 10 days apart, so I will have one little girl to spoil, and one little boy to spoil!  These two babies will be number 11 and 12 of my  grand babies! It will be so fun to have 2 more little added to the family! So now I need to get busy, making more baby things for our newest additions to our family~ September and October is when they are expected to arrive, so that gives me some time to get my creative juices flowing!

Watermelons Any One ?

I have been busy this past week, doing some painting for a local produce stand. They are noted for the famous Bogue Sound Watermelon. I had cut and painted these big watermelons about 9 years ago, and they had finally faded and in need of a big time face lift. So I headed off the the farm, and got busy repainting them. the large watermelons will be put up on the buildings, and the smaller ones will be inside the produce stand. So if you happen to be traveling through Bogue Sound NC, stop by Guthrie Farms for the best tasting watermelons you have ever had! Don't like watermelons? Not to worry, they have wonderful produce that you don't want to miss out on!  You won't miss it just look for the big watermelons!

I've picked my paint brushes up again

I hadn't picked up my paint brushes in quite awhile, and then decided for the last PAFA team giveaway to give it a whirl again. Well I can say that I have been bitten by the painting bug once again and have painted a few new things! By no means does this mean that I'm not going to sew any more, but I am going to work on doing both, so that I have a wider variety of prim goodies to offer. Here are a few of my new things, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did painting them!

Happy Mothers Day

Katlynne and Oliver

Mom to Be Savannah

Daughter in Law Jessica, Adam, Owen and Natalie

Daughter in Law Mother to be Jessi, and Bo
I want to wish everyone a very Happy Mothers Day! I have been blessed with 9 children, and I will say it has been the hardest, but most rewarding job that I have ever had! We have had good times, and bad, and went through our ups and downs. We have seen each other through the tears, heartbreaks, joys, marriages, divorces, births and deaths. I have tried to be the best mom that I know how to be, and I have made many mistakes along the way, for that I ask for your forgiveness. I hope each and everyone of you know that I am so very  proud of you! I would/will do anything in the world for you, and will always be there for you. My love for you is uncondtional. Thank you all for giving me the most precious gift of your love, and of course for giving me my beautiful grandchildren! Happy Mothers Day to my daughters, and daughter in laws!

New Addition to my Primitive Baby line

I was so excited when I found this Soft In The Head pattern! She is called Story time Edna, a Mother Goose look alike! I just had to get the pattern to go along with my other Primitive baby decor! I just finished this one up and listed her on ETSY. I am making another one for my daughters babies nursery. The nursery will be done with mostly prims. We find out on the 19th if she is having a boy or girl, please keep your fingers crossed for a healthy little girl, I have 8 grandsons and only 2 granddaughters and 1 of the two lives out of state. I will be happy with whatever we are blessed with, but sure would love to dress up a little girl in ruffles and lace lol.

Thursday Thoughts

My heart goes out to all those that have been effected by the horrible storm that have been happening! It's hard to believe that in a blink of an eye that everything can be destroyed! This just reminds me once again that we need to always tell the people that mean the most to you, that you love them. Don't waste your time being angry or with worry. Forgive, forgive, and forgive again. Lend a helping hand when you can. Smile at a stranger, you may be the light that they need at that moment. Remember that the past is just that, leave it there, because you can't change it. But you can learn from it. Do remember the lessons!  Be a friend, share a hug, and a kind word! It takes more effort to frown then it does to smile!
Have a blessed day!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all my blogging friends!  I hope that you have a wonderful day with your friends and families! My children and grandchildren will be over this afternoon. It is a beautiful day, the birds are singing, and there is a nice breeze. I am looking forward to spending some time with the grands. I have plenty of bubbles and sidewalk chalk for my grand daughter, and her Easter basket has a jump rope too. I even did baskets for the babies that will make their arrival in September and October . They have onesies, and sleeper, little mittens, socks, and of course pacifiers. I will be missing my daughter Katlynne and her family, they are on vacation, and won't be back home until later this week. I hope that you all cherish the time spent with your families today, and take time to remember the sacrifice that was made for each and everyone of us.
Happy Easter!
Prim Blessings!
Karen
