Back to work!

Time to get back to work!
I didn't accomplish as much as I would have liked to last week. My little guy had to have surgery. He was such a brave little boy, and this momma is darned proud! He had to take a week off of school, so I wasn't able to get as much done as I had hoped. But I did manage to get this pile of ornaments sewn and stuffed, and quite a bit of it needle sculpted! It's amazing how much you can do at nap time when you put your mind to it!  This week Mikey is back in school, so I will be finishing up these ornaments and moving onto other things!

Snowmen and Santa's

I believe that creating for Christmas has to be my favorite thing in the world to do. Memories from my childhood come rushing in. Yes I know we haven't even gotten through Halloween or Thanksgiving yet! But for me I could create for Christmas all year round. Here are a few of my pieces that I have done recently. Remember you can find me on facebook  for all your shopping needs! Have a wonderful week!

We made it through Matthew!

It has been one heck of a stressful week. For a week we have been hearing and prepairing for hurricane Matthew. This storm had me nervous! I am originally from Buffalo NY, so we don't deal with hurricanes, we deal with blizzards and ice storms!!!  I have been in NC for 15 years now, and I don't ever think I will get comfortable with these types of storms!  Thank God the hurricane, changed it's path somewhat, and we only had minimal damage. We lost some shingles from the roof, and our power went out at some point in the night, but was back on in the morning when we woke up. My heart goes out to all of those that weren't so lucky and have sever damage, some still without power, and dealing with terrible flooding.

I didn't get as much done last week as I would have liked to, I wasn't as focused as I should have been. I did manage to get one order completed, and another one almost done. I am waiting on a shipment of bells so I can finish it up. Now onto the next of my orders, and hopefully I will be able to sneak in a couple of new snowmen, and get my nativity done.  Thank you all for stopping by!!

Helloooooooo Out there~!

I'm late again posting this week! I have been busy making snowmen! I guess that is the only way that I'm going to get any relief from this heat in NC!!! I'm a Buffalo girl living in a NC world. My body knows that it's supposed to be jeans and hoodie weather, but NC weather sure doesn't want to cooperate! It's 85 degrees today!  I am truly thinking that it is time to look into moving farther north! I miss the cool fall days, the leaves changing and to be honest, I miss the snow!  I'm tired of summers that are so hot that you don't even venture outside. I want summers that you can enjoy, and changes in the seasons!  I want to go Christmas shopping when it is snowing, and have a fire in the fire place on cool fall evenings. I guess I'm home sick.... Any how here are the snowmen that I have been working on. I hope you enjoy!  Don't forget you can always find me on Facebook. Have a wonderful week!

Working on an order

Well I didn't get anything finished for my sales page this week, I have been working on orders. I did get them just about completed today, so I let myself play with clay. I should have some new pieces next week. Until then... will someone turn down the heat, and let the weather know that it is almost Autumn???

Busy Week

Well it's been a super busy week! Mikey started Pre-K, doctor appointments and Hermine deciding to come on the holiday weekend.  To say the least I didn't get much accomplished this week. I had hoped to work on a new clay piece, but no such luck!  I did get some Raggedy flowers made that I am offering for sale this week at a discounted price.  Missing Home

I  have been really missing "home" these days! The changes of seasons, the festivals, parks, zoo, and most of all my friends and family! Yes I even miss the SNOW! I have tried so hard to adjust to living in North Carolina, but the summers are just unbearably hot and humid. I swear I would rather deal with tons of snow in the winter than having to be stuck in the house all summer because it's just too darned hot to be outside!  This year we have had 56 days straight of heat index's well into the 100's. That is just too darned HOT!!!  So I have been stuck inside thinking of cooler temperatures, fall leaves and even snow!  My new piece for this week is a Father Christmas, that I hand sculpted. Now I am going to continue to  dream about a wearing jeans and a hoodie, cooking chili, chicken and dumplings. (I swear I'll be wearing shorts until Christmas with the way the heat has been :/)  So I will dream ahead to cooler days and be creating some new fall and winter pieces and dream about cooler weather!

Can it be Fall ??? PLEASE

I am so over this heat and humidity! We have had over 30 something days of temperatures in the 90's with heat index's well into the 100's.  It's so hot that even going in the pool isn't refreshing, it's more like going into a hot tub. My solution is to stay inside in the A/C and dream about Fall and Winter, and create for those seasons.  Please stop by my sales page for my latest listing!

Creative Paper Clay my experience

Creative Paper Clay
Working with clay has always been something that I wanted to  try, I was really hesitant because it was out of my comfort zone. I had never worked with any clay, my experience working with that medium (other than play-dough as a child) was non existent.  I spent several months researching clay, and how to work with it, I had a package of Creative paper clay that I had bought probably 3 years ago, still sitting on my shelf waiting for me. I also contacted a few clay artists, to see if they had any tips to give me. I can't believe how helpful and supportive LeAnn Kress and Sissy Garvel were! They were a God send!  After finally deciding to pull out the clay and give it a shot, (I figured what's the worst thing that could happen? If it's awful I have a trash can that it can go in!) I fell in love with the feel of clay in my hands! The Creative Paper Clay is wonderful to work with! It smooths so nicely, and if you use a wet paint brush, there is very little sanding needed if any at all. I posted other projects that I did using both creative paper clay and my own paper clay that I made. For superior detailing and smooth surfaces I would definitely use the creative paper clay! This is the first project that I did, it took me longer to finish than the rest because of all the detailing, sewing etc. In closing I just want to say if you want to try clay, I would definitely use Creative paper clay. Jump in and give it a try! #Creativepaperclay

Expanding my horizan

For some time now I have wanted to try my hand in clay. After spending months watching videos, and asking some experts for tips, and viewing clay makers blogs, I have finally taken the step and started working on some clay projects. I even made my own paper clay, from a tutorial that I found on line! I am only in the beginning stages of these projects but wanted to share with you all what I have been up to.

It's been a Long long time!

It's been a long time!
Sorry I have been among the missing but life has gotten in the way! I'm not even sure if anyone even bothers to read this anymore, but if I do have any followers left I will continue writing. If not it's time to say goodbye to this blog, and move on. I have been busy lately working on getting patterns made into epatterns, and creating new designs. Mikey is getting so big, and only has a little more than a week left of school. Then onto summer fun!

The weather hasn't been cooperating, we have had so much rain these past couple of weeks. Hopefully we can get the pool up and running within the next week or so.

I do want to take a minute to thank all those that have served in the Military, and those who gave their lives for our freedom! Wishing you all a wonderful Memorial Weekend! Stay safe!
