New Etsy Team Started

I just created a new "team" on etsy to help promote our etsy shops. I plan on starting a new blog for the team, and a facebook page to help get more exposure to our etsy sites. If you are interested in joining in please stop by primitive and folk artists under the community section on esty. The more the merrier!! I think if we all get together and brain storm we can help each other make our esty sales a huge success.

My Christmas Wish to You!

Good morning to all my blogging buddies! I just want to take a minute to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
My Christmas wish for you is, health happiness and joy! Remember daily all the blessings that you take for granted, and be thankful for each day as it comes. We all face trials in our lives but we don't have to face them alone! All you have to do is look up and reach out and God will be with you!  Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you!

This time I made something for ME!!

When I did my craft show I saw a vendor with the cutest apron on. I asked her where she got it from and she said her friend made it for her years ago. Well I just had to have an apron like hers, since I tend to be very very...messy in the kitchen!!! Not to mention I figured my grand babies would get a kick out of it, and I am a big kid at heart! So I pulled out one of my old aprons and made a basic pattern to get started with, and then headed for the sewing machine. I do have to mention that I never tend to make anything for myself, everything ends up being given as gifts or sold so I was super duper excited that I was finally making something just for me! My daughter in law came into my craft room while I was trying to decide on the pocket, I was leaning towards a solid color but she insisted that I used the candy cane material so I went with what she chose.  OK now I have it all sewed up and drag my daughter away from the computer so she can be my model, she was all to happy to get in the spirit of the moment and put on her Santa hat too.  I think I am going to make these for next years craft shows, and to put on esty. Then while I was thinking about that I was thinking of variations to do, like reindeer, Santa, Christmas trees, packages and on and on... I can't wait to hit the store for more fabric!  Wishing you all a very BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I have been super duper busy these past few weeks getting ready for my craft show on Camp Lejeune, in Jacksonville North Carolina ( Nov 20th 9 -5 and 21st 12-5) I am getting really excited as well as nervous about this show. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is going to be a good one, because it is the only one that I am doing this year. Here is a sneak peek at what I will be offering at the show. If you are in the area I sure hope that you will stop by and see me, I will be in the Carolina room, in the Officers Club space number 39.

7 new dolls!

Well it's been awhile since I posted, but I do have a good excuse lol. My son came in from Ohio for a week, and I did a lot of babysitting the grands, so the kids could spend time with their brother. I did get to spend a bit of time with him too, but since my surgery I have been having a lot of stomach problems and it has been a daily struggle. I do have to say that the past week has been much better, I did have to quit drinking coffee though, but went back to tea so I am still a happy camper. I have been working on these dolls for the past few days, and finally got them finished up today.

I have a few more in the works and can't wait to show you! I missed crafting while I was re cooperating from my surgery, it feels so good to be back at it! Wishing all my blogging buddies a bountiful harvest time!

Hello to all my bloggin' buddies! It's been awhile since I posted, and I wanted y'all to know that I am still alive and kickin'!  It's a wonder though lol, I had to have emergency surgery a few weeks ago... dang gallbladder!  That put me down for a week or so, and when I started feeling better, my young en decided to get good and sick with bronchitis and having problems with her asthma.  I have finally gotten back to crafting and will have some pictures to share soon.  I am going to be posting some new things on my selling blog too, I have to pay off a $16,000 hospital bill :(  .... so look for some bargains that I will be having in my Gallbladder sale LOL

Each Chapter will meet the 3rd Saturday of every month, each meeting will be planned by a different member of that particular chapter on a rotation basis, meetings can include primitive shopping, antique shopping, going out for lunch as a group, crafting day, crafting classes etc... whatever you can come up with that is FUN and agreed upon by your members.

The chapters are intended to bring together like minded gals, for friendship, crafting, learning, networking etc. I mean none of us can ever have too many FRIENDS can we?

Bonnets and Owls

Well I have finally gotten a few pictures of the things that I have been working on lately! I just love the way these bonnets turned out, and I even made a bonnet holder that I think will look great sitting on a dresser. I also have been working on some owls and a few other fall goodies, hopefully I will have more pictures to share in the next couple of days. I am wishing that this heat would break and looking forward to some nice fall weather. I sure do miss the color changes that I had when I lived in Buffalo! There is nothing more beautiful then all the leaves in their wonderful fall glory!

Back from Vacation

Hello all! No I didn't fall off the face of the earth lol, I was in Florida visiting my sister :) I had a wonderful time with her, we spent so much quality time just talking and and enjoying each others company. We also hit the pool about every evening for hours and hours on end. I did get to be there for the closing of her newly built house (which is BEAUTIFUL). I will be getting back to crafting tomorrow, and should have some new pictures to share with you all. I have finished a couple of prairie bonnets, and I am working on a couple of dolls.

Where it all begins

Good morning to all my blogging friends! I thought that I would share with you all my crafting space (especially since I got it nice and spiffy clean this weekend). We converted my daughters old bedroom into my studio after she moved out, even though my husband had bought me a shed and wired it with lighting put a/c in etc. I just seemed to always have to run back into the house for something. I was spending most of my time running in and out and little by little I was dragging my things back into the house. I think I just felt isolated out there, and didn't hear the rumblings of the house with the kids and hubby.  I missed their input on what I was making, and just the general hum of a busy house. I know I can drive them all crazy when I get my music going nice and loud and it isn't their taste :) but then again they can get theirs blasting too.. who knows what I will decide to be playing.. it may be Chris Tomlin, Lauren Tally, or Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Dean Martin, then again it could be some 50's or disco lol you just never know what music is going to be pumping out of my studio when I am trying to get my creative juices going. I have decided to give Elsy a whirl again, and this week I will be listing a bunch of prim goodies. Please stop by to see me at http://cedarcreekprimitives.etsy.com Wishing all my blogging friends a wonderful week!

Antique/Flea Market Finds

I got a late start today, I had wanted to get up early and hit the yard sales and flea markets, and of course a few of the antique stores in my area. I do have to say that we have a lot of antique stores around here, but a lot o them are very expensive to say the least! There is one antique store that is real close to my house, but it isn't opened daily and you have to sort of hit and miss on getting in there. Well today it was a hit! I found an awesome crock, a wooden bowl, and a bobbin all for $20.00. The crock doesn't have any markings but I love it and the price was right. The bowl has a train iniside and is stamped CO 5 Railway NH. The flea market find was a butter churn.. I know it's not an old one but it will look great once I paint it and distress it. I got jug type crock there too and a wooden rocking horse.I almost forgot that I found two lanterns too still in the package, that I am going to prim up and have my hubby wire for electric candles. All and all I'm happy with my new goodies.

Two New Raggedy's
I have been working on these two raggedy's while I was waiting for my sculpted doll to dry. I just love the way they turned out. They have needle felted hair, which I think is my favorite way to do doll hair these days!

My First Clay Sculpted Doll Face
I have been wanting to try this for awhile now, and read a few tutorials on how to do paper clay sculpting on a doll. Well after dragging my feet, and finally getting the nerve up to give this a go, I sat down a few days ago and started her. It's been a few days working on her, with dry time for the clay, sanding and adding more clay, sanding some more, painting, needle felting her hair and then of course making her dress. I am pretty happy with the way she came out for a first try, and now I have another one in the works. I think this is something that I will continue to do and continue to figure out how to sculpt faces better. But as I said I think I did OK for a first try.

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all those Dads out there! I was very blessed to have a wonderful father all be in only for 21 years :(  that was always my knight in shining armor! My dad was a hard worker, not wanting my mom to ever have to work outside of the home. I can remember my dad holding down several jobs at one time to make ends meet for our family of 5 kids. He was a man that was a friend to everyone and had a smile that could melt your heart. How I still long to be held in his arms knowing that he would always be there for me. I was his Karrie Bear, his baby, and the spitting image of his mother. I miss you dad!

I have now grown up and have been married to my wonderful husband Bill for almost 20 years. He has so many characteristics of my father, that it's no wonder why I fell in love with him! This is both of our second marriages, and he took my 2 children in as his own. We never did the step dad thing we were just a family. I am very blessed that I was given 2 more children by him and 5 more came with him. We have 10 grand children, and he is a proud Pa Pa to them all.  We have are still making memories with our children and now our grand children... here's to you Bill Happy Fathers Day!

I have to add a Happy Fathers Day to the newest daddy in the family, Jimmy. Happy Fathers Day honey! Cherish every moment of being a father! Time passes much too quickly and in a blink they are grown and having kids of their own :)

Betsy Ross
I made this in honor of all the service men and women! I come from a family of those who have served their country. My father served on the USS Missouri during WW ll and was there during the signing of the peace treaty, my husband served during Vietnam. I have six boys and three of them have served with one currently in the Marines. I do have to say he wears the uniform well and I am one proud mom!

Summer Smiles

Here are a few oldies but goodies that I have made in the past. I want to put together a few of the raggedy flowers for my back porch.
