It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Christmas is in the air! I finally have my Christmas tree up and decorated! My list of "ta do's " is still a mile long, but it will get done! I was slowed down by both Mikey and Bill getting an awful cold, poor Mikey had croup, and then it landed in his chest :(.  I thought that I had escaped the bug, but no sooner than they were better I started coughing my head off.  At least I made it through Thanksgiving not being sick, and our family gather although small this year, was nice.

I still need to start my Christmas shopping, which by now I have normally placed my orders and am waiting for them to arrive at my door. I just love shopping on line and not having to fight the crowds!  I have a couple of dolls that I need to make for the kiddo's, which I plan on starting tomorrow. After I get those finished it will be onto baking all the Christmas goodies. I will have to have a special baking day with Mikey too, he loves to help cook, and I know this year he will really enjoy decorating Christmas cookies.

This week on my facebook page I will be running specials that are only available for that day. Please stop by and see what kind of deal you can get.

I will be doing a giveaway soon, so be on the look out for that too.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season!

Tis The Season

I just love this time of year, to me it just seems magical! Family and friends gather, beautiful decorations inside and out, and for the most part people share a little bit more kindness during this time of year. This time of year always makes me think back to my childhood, and the excitement of the season. I have so many wonderful memories, of breaking opened my piggy bank to go Christmas shopping with my brothers and sister. Walking in the snow and the streets were decorated with lights and in the main square there was a beautiful Nativity. Hurrying home from school to see if the skating rink was opened, and looking forward to Christmas morning and a new pair of ice skates. I have been so blessed!  I just want to take the time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season.

Preparing for the Holidays!

My sewing machine has been humming away,  I have so much more time with Mikey now in pre school  to get things done. I miss him while he is gone but I know that he is enjoying spending time with his new friends, and I get a break, and can sew without so many interruptions.
My studio looks like an explosion of snowmen and Santa's as well as some mice, and I have so many new designs that I can't wait to draw out!  Keep your eyes opened for my latest projects!

Big Day Today

Today was a big day for us! It was Mikey's first day of Pre School. I was a little bit worried that he was going to have a melt down when we dropped him off, since he has never been away from us. But the only one melting down was me lol. He was very excited to go to school, and made some new friends. He can hardly wait to go back on Monday. Today was just a practice run :) .

I have been busy working on some new items for Christmas, they will be listed on the DIVAS SITE
on the 1st of the month.  I hope you stop by to see them! Here is a sneak peek of one of my new Santa's.

Fall is in the air!

Fall is in the air! The weather is finally cooling down where you can be outside and be comfortable! I have been busy with cutting wood, which I haven't done in such a long time, as well as preparing for Christmas. I am working on some new dolls, as well as doing some of my old favorites. Mikey is excited about Halloween this year, and he is going to be a pirate, I can't wait to get pictures of him all dressed up. Having a little one around sure makes the holidays extra special. Just to see the excitement in their eyes is just so special!

I would like to remind you that new items are listed every month on the DIVAS SITE  We update on the 1st, and the 15th, We are adding new artists too! If you are interested in joining our team make sure you click on the tab at the top that says join us!

Looking Back

Sometimes I wish I could turn back the hands of time, even just for a day to relive the wonderful childhood that I had!  This time of year brings back so many wonderful memories of a time long past when the streets were safe, neighbors looked out for each other and times were simpler.

I grew up in a small Village right outside of Buffalo, NY  it had to be the closest thing to "Mayberry" there ever was. The Village of Kenmore had so much to offer it's residents. A beautiful park, that had a wading pool for the little ones in the summer and in the winter it was flooded for ice skating. There were tennis courts, baseball diamonds, volley ball courts, swings, slides, and merry go rounds. But beyond the "things" there was a neighborhood of people that looked out for one another,

Neighbors reached out in times of trouble, offered a helping hand, and a shoulder to lean on. Oh what I wouldn't give to have times like that now!

It makes me sad to see how much things have changed. Somewhere along the line, people have become self centered. It is no longer what can I do to help a friend or neighbor, but what do I get.  People no longer reach out to help someone in need, they are too busy with activities, things and the next biggest, best toy.

It's time for everyone to take a long hard look around and see how they can help make a change. Who can you reach out to and give a helping hand?  Even if it is something small like holding a door opened, a friendly hello, or a smile. Each one of us CAN make a difference!  One baby step at a time, reaching out, making this world a better place.

Time flies!

It's so hard to believe that 3 years have passed since this beautiful little boy  has come into my life!  Mikey had a wonderful 3rd birthday party yesterday!  The weather was perfect, and even a few guests braved the freezing cold water and went for a swim. I am so blessed to have the privilege to be raising this beautiful baby!  He keeps me on my toes that's for sure!!

The colors the smells, baking once again, and of course creating for the holidays! I have finally updated my sales page, with some new fall offerings. Be looking for more  fall and of course Christmas goodies in the near future!  Have a wonderful day !!  Fall officially begins tomorrow... whoo hooo bring on the cooler temps!

Is it Fall yet?

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! I look forward to the cooler weather, although it doesn't get cool like New York cool, but at least it isn't in the 90's and you can go outside and enjoy yourself.  Fall is also one of my favorite times to create new things!  I love the holidays and I get busy with Halloween as early as July and can hardly wait to start creating for Christmas :) .  Here are a few pieces that I have recently finished.

I have also started a Internet Selling group with a group of very talented ladies. I hope you will stop by and check it out!

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

I know that there are some people that think this is a stupid challenge, but to me it is important. My cousin Bob Smith is suffering from this terrible disease, and if dumping a bucket of ice water over my head helps raise awareness and funding for research then a bucket of ice water it is! To raise funds for this cause I am also having a primitive auction of my handmade items on Friday August 22- Sunday August 24th. If you don't care to take the ice bucket challenge please do stop by my facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/PrimitivesforALS/ and bid on a primitive item. All proceeds are going to ALS.  Thank you in advance for your support!

Halloween Snowman

Well I finished him off this afternoon.  I did add another bat, and put rusty pins with rusty bells on all of the bats tummies.  This was a collaborated effort, with Carmen Ellis giving me the idea of doing a Halloween snowman. So with her inspired idea, and a few pow wows, during the progress, this is the end project.  I have to thank Carmen Ellis for the fantastic idea, and I can't wait to do some other Halloween snowmen.  Of course they will be dressed differently, because this one is Carmen's !

Sneak Peek

Good morning friends! I hope today finds you well!
I have been working on a new project, it is actually a custom order :) for a special lady! Here is a sneak peek of just a small bit of this piece. I will post a picture of the finished project in a day or so,when it is complete.  Fall is just around the corner, and honestly, if I had my way, I would create for Fall and Winter all the time! I love the fall colors, and the crisp air that comes with it. I have to admit I'm a big kid when it comes to Halloween, and Christmas time!  I find those seasons just magical :).  I look forward to seeing little ones all dressed in their Halloween costumes, carving pumpkins and of course decorating. After Halloween, I look forward to getting together with family for Thanksgiving and all the yummy smells that comes for baking!  Christmas, what can I say about Christmas?I have so many wonderful memories of my Christmas past, as a child, a young mother, and now as a grandmother, and more memories to make!

I am looking forward to creating all kinds of new goodies for the upcoming seasons, and I do hope you will check back often to see what I am up to!  We still have lots of summer weather here in North Carolina, days filled with out door activities, swimming, and bbq's. But my hands will be kept busy creating for the Fall and Winter time seasons.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Once again time has gotten away from me!

I can't believe that I have not posted in over a year!! Shame on me!!!  I do have to say that I have been one busy bee though in the past year :)  Mikey keeps me on my toes, as most 2 almost 3 year old's do ! He is a very busy boy, and loves to see what makes things work! He loves playing with tools, cars and trucks. He is an adventurous little guy that loves to climb, on anything :) He can undo every child proof lock there is, and we have resorted to screwing drawers and cupboards shut, there is a problem with that though, if he can find a "real screw driver" he can unscrew it and has been since he was just a little over 2 :/.

Last year I tried my hand at wholesaling which kept me extremely busy, and working until the wee hours of the morning. I was so busy with wholesaling I didn't have any time to keep up my retail business :( . After giving it a lot of thought, I stopped wholesaling and am selling strictly retail.  I seem to enjoy it much better, and I am able create some One of  a kind pieces, that I wasn't able to do while wholesaling.

It is getting to be the busy time of year, with the fall and winter seasons coming! I am looking forward to making some new pieces, I  have recently made a couple of one of a kind dolls that are available for purchase. Send me a message if you are interest.

I hope I haven't lost all my followers, and I will try to be so much better at keeping up with my blogs.
