Thursday Thoughts

My heart goes out to all those that have been effected by the horrible storm that have been happening! It's hard to believe that in a blink of an eye that everything can be destroyed! This just reminds me once again that we need to always tell the people that mean the most to you, that you love them. Don't waste your time being angry or with worry. Forgive, forgive, and forgive again. Lend a helping hand when you can. Smile at a stranger, you may be the light that they need at that moment. Remember that the past is just that, leave it there, because you can't change it. But you can learn from it. Do remember the lessons!  Be a friend, share a hug, and a kind word! It takes more effort to frown then it does to smile!
Have a blessed day!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all my blogging friends!  I hope that you have a wonderful day with your friends and families! My children and grandchildren will be over this afternoon. It is a beautiful day, the birds are singing, and there is a nice breeze. I am looking forward to spending some time with the grands. I have plenty of bubbles and sidewalk chalk for my grand daughter, and her Easter basket has a jump rope too. I even did baskets for the babies that will make their arrival in September and October . They have onesies, and sleeper, little mittens, socks, and of course pacifiers. I will be missing my daughter Katlynne and her family, they are on vacation, and won't be back home until later this week. I hope that you all cherish the time spent with your families today, and take time to remember the sacrifice that was made for each and everyone of us.
Happy Easter!
Prim Blessings!

Crazy Weekend! Happy Birthday Oliver! Prim Baby Nursery

This weekend started out with high winds, but never did I expect that we were going to have a tornado warning! I started out Saturday helping out at a benefit for a local farmer that has cancer, we served over 1,500 BBQ plates, had a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. It was a huge success, even though it was windy. When I got home I was so tired, and was watching a movie with my husband when I received a phone call from a neighbor that said I needed to turn on the weather channel, that a tornado was heading our way! As I listened to the reports, and grabbed a few things to stash in the hallway, like water, our medicins, my purse, a flash light, pillows and a blanket, I made a quick call to my sister telling her that I would call her after the warning was lifted. Not five minutes later our power went out, we were without power for about five hours, and the tornado missed us, but hit with in a couple of miles from us. We were very blessed that all we got was wind, rain and lightening! My prayers go out to all those that were effected with this storm.

Sunday was a beautiful day, and it was my grandson's first birthday! They had a party in the park and we all enjoyed the weather (you would never have believed that just the night before it was horrible outside) I forgot my camera :(  but will have pictures in a day or so to share, once my daughter sends them to me.

I was glad to see Monday, I had PT in the am, and then I spent the rest of the day finishing up my latests Prim Baby Decor.  I love how these turned out and I hope you will like them too.

Missing My Mother

Well today is what would be my mothers birthday. My mom left us to go on to her heavenly father 13 years ago tomorrow. I think of my mom all the time, and still find myself thinking call mom she will know the answer to whatever is on my mind. She was such a great mom, patient, kind, and wise. She was creative, and loved to read. Which is where I got my love for both reading and creating. My mom's laugh was contagious, I can remember many times her trying not to laugh and just shaking and we would all end up laughing and of course getting in trouble for laughing at whatever she was trying not to laugh at. My mom was such as special person, she raised 5 children most of the time by herself because my dad worked all the time, most of the time at least 2 jobs if not more, so my mom had to handle everything on her own. She was a lover of children and animals, and taught me how to swim when she didn't even know how to swim herself. After she taught me, she finally went and took swimming lesson herself.

If you are blessed to still have your mom, don't take her for granted, make sure you always tell her you love her, and don't waste time being angry. Love her and know that there is no love like a mothers love!
Happy Birthday Mom!! I miss you!

Creating for Babies

I have had babies on the brain these days, with having two grandsons that are little guys ( Owen is 1 and Oliver will be 1 on the 17th) and having two more on the way, one due in September and the other due in October, I have had babies on my brain. So I have decided that I want to do some prim things for babies rooms. The first piece that I made is " The Cow Jumped Over The Moon" and I plan on adding to this prim collection. Of course my one grand babies room is going to be decorated all in prims :) so I plan on making lots of goodies to decorate his/her room. I would love to hear all your ideas on how to decorate a nursery/ guest room all in prim style, and of course point me in the direction of any prim shops that do prim baby things!  Here is a peek at my first piece, this one is up for sale on ETSY and others are soon to come.

What Have You Done Wednesday?

There has been a lot of talk in the past few weeks of paying it forward. Paying it forward is a wonderful thing! But have you stopped to think about what it actually means?  What it means to me is reaching out to someone in need. I know that I was blessed a few years ago by someone reaching out to me and paying my tuition for school. I was thrilled that I could go to school and become an activity director at a local nursing home. While there I saw so many people who just needed a touch, a smile, or someone to listen to them.  They just wanted to feel as if they were still important and what they said had some meaning, they wanted someone to care.

Last night I was awakened from a sound sleep with this on my mind. There are so many hurting people out there today, and what are we doing about it ? When you see the man that looks like he hasn't had a bath in a week, who is just standing at a door way do you look the other way?  Or do you smile at him and say hello? Sometimes a smile or a gentle touch is all someone needs to get through the day.

I have had a heavy heart for two days now, knowing that a local man has no place to sleep.  I don't know his total situation, I know he has family in the area, but he isn't welcome in their house, I know that he was in the hospital in the resent past and had enough money to stay at a local boarding house/motel for a week. His hands are those of a working man, calloused and hard to the touch. His eyes shine blue, and he is quick to say hello and open a door for you. His name is David, and he is a child of God. Even through his struggles, he still believes, he believes that God is with him and will take care of him. He believes that even though people have turned their back on him, that he is in God's hands, and God will provide.

I am not a rich person, in the worlds way of thinking, but I am rich with the blessings that God has provided me with. I have a house to live in, food on my table, a bed to sleep in, and a family that loves me. But most of all I have Gods love.

I remember while I was growing up, how neighbors would help neighbors. It was common place to see someone lend a helping hand. Neighbors would look out for neighbors, they would shovel the snow of an elderly neighbor, run to the grocery store for them, cook a meal when they were  sick or if there was a death in the family. But now, people don't know their neighbors, they turn their heads instead of speaking to them. What has happened that has changed people so drastically?

I want to challenge each and everyone of you that reads my blog to reach out to someone who is in need. I'm not talking about reaching out with your wallet only. If you have money to give then yes please do pick a worthy cause and lend a helping hand. If you don't have the means to give financially, there are so many other ways that you can reach out.  Stop by and see that elderly neighbor that is all alone, volunteer your time at a nursing home, teaching someone to read, assisting in a class room. You can make a difference by holding a door open for someone, smiling  and saying hello, picking up the phone and letting someone know that you are thinking about them.  Donating clothes you no longer wear, picking up an item or two and donating to a food pantry.  But please reach out!  I would love to hear all about what or how you reached out, blog about reaching out, remind the world that we have hearts!

So no more Wordless Wednesday ... I challenge you to have a WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WEDNESDAY!
