Everyone needs a little magic in their lives! Fairy Garden adventures.

I have been wanting to do a fairy garden now for five years. Last year I got as far as buying some supplies, and even digging up the spot that I was going to put my garden. I never did plant a thing though. In my head I knew what I wanted my garden to look like, but our yard has hardly any shade. So not all plants can take the full sun all day long so I ended up scraping the idea of a garden last year.

Moving forward to this year, I got an idea of making a raised flower bed, and have it part way under our crepe myrtle tree. After having my husband make the box for me I got busy shoveling dirt into the box... let me tell you, I'm getting old and boy that sure wasn't an easy job! I had stopped to get a few plants before I started shoveling, and when I got home I decided I needed more, and some top soil. So off to the store again to get more plants and top soil.  I had gotten everything planted last night, and only had enough energy to put a couple of decorations in. This morning when I got up as sore as I was, I still wanted to get out there and work on my garden. One plant isn't looking so hot, but I'm going to give it a couple days before I yank it and replace it.  I hope you enjoy my garden as much as I am. I still need fairies and I will probably be adding more little do dads along the way.
Before adding more decorations.
Waterfall  and stepping stones up the hill

Camper and out house

Log cabin ( I added a hammock to the side)

This flower isn't looking to hot, hopefully it will perk up.

Now to add fairies!

Mother's Day is around the corner!

Mother's Love

There is nothing like a mother's love! A mother is there to wipe your tears, share your joys, give you great advise and so much more!  For those of you that are lucky enough to still have your mother with you here on earth, make sure that you let her know that she is appreciated, and loved! What I wouldn't do for just a few more minutes with my mother!

In honor of my mother I made "A Mother's Work Is Never Done" It's made from an adapted Cat in the Fiddle pattern.  I didn't add my all my mom's kitties (children) she had 5 of us. But I added her two girls :)  me and my sister. We both gave her a run for her money!

To purchase this piece, which would make a great Mother's Day gift, or a gift for a cat lover. Or to even treat yourself to something special!  Stop by my shop

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  Mikey's last day of school was yesterday, he is out for spring break until the 24th.  I'm sure that we will be spending a lot of time at the park and out on adventures while he is off. Right now the weather is perfect in NC. It still isn't too hot! I would love the weather to stay this way all year long!

I have been busy working on some Americana items, a bee, and already looking ahead to fall. I have one new pattern all drawn up for fall, and many more floating around in my head that need to be put on paper.  I am also looking forward to doing some more clay pieces. I really love creative paper clay, and the way it feels in my hands. I just haven't gotten back to it since before Christmas!

I have also opened a facebook shop with my newest items that are available for purchase.  You can also visit my Etsy shop and on Ebay  and see what's new!

I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful spring time weather!!
Until next time.

Happy Monday! Annies on Parade

Good afternoon friends! We sure had some crazy weather in North Carolina this past weekend! Last week the temps were in the high 70's low 80's  and Sunday we were having snow showers! I swear the weather is in need of some medication this year!! LOL

Last week I was busy making some new spring time raggedy's. I love the way they turned out! On my work table now are more bunnies and ducks.  I will be in a local shop soon so I need to build up my stock!  I have so many ideas floating through my head (they normally come when I'm trying to go to sleep).  I can't wait to get started on them.

Thank you to everyone for the sweet comments about my brother. I miss him everyday. But I want to make him proud, so I'm trying to push through and follow my dream.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!   Karen

Back at it!

I have been missing for a few months. I just couldn't bring myself to post anything, and I wasn't really  working on anything.  You see in November I lost my brother. It put me in a tailspin that I didn't know if I was ever going to be back to myself. I had no desire to create, I was having a hard time just functioning with every day life. I miss him so very much!

After a few months to reflect, and a chance to grieve, I am doing what my brother Kevin would have wanted me to do. I'm chasing my dream once again. I have been hard at work. hoping to make my brother proud!  I've been making several new items, that are available for purchase.  I will try to be better at getting back here and keeping the few people that follow me up to date.
