Hippity Hopping it's almost Spring

It's another beautiful day in NC ! The sun is shining and the windows are opened letting in some nice fresh air! Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 70's!! All this sunshine has me thinking about Spring and all the new things that I can create! I listed both the bunny nodder and the primitive bunny on etsy, they are both my own designs. I just love this time of year when it's not too hot and not too cold! In a couple of months I will be complaining of the heat and how I hate having to keep my windows closed :)
I really have been seeing so many nice punch needle designs, and am thinking I may want to try my hand at that. If anyone has any advice please give me a yell! I don't have any clue how to do this or what supplies I need, but boy you all make such pretty things that I just have to give it a try! Have a great day everyone!

  4. Hey Karen:) Yes you must try punch needle, it is fun. A little taxing on the eyes, but so much fun.
    You're bunnies are too cutesy!
We've had our windows open too, but I think it's gonna get cold again.

  5. Hi Karen -
Know this is kind of a "late" post - but I truly encourage you to try punch needle. I did and am addicted. Very simple to learn (I taught myself...and if I can do it, you can...trust me.) Altho there are many great embroidery threads out there, I LOVE Valdani - because it is already separated into 3 strands (which you use for most punch pieces) so no separating the floss like DMC, Gentle Arts, etc. Also - the very best thing is that it comes on a roll or spool, so you don't have to rethread your punch needle all the time - you just go until you're done with that color! Check out Brenda Gervais's adorable designs ("With Thy Needle and Thread") for punch - and her awesome supply of Valdani threads at couuntrystitchesonline....Unless you have a store that carries that stuff nearby. Unfortunately, we don't!

Sorry for the long post also - but if you have any questions, let me know. I love punch and think you will too!
